Understanding Playlists, Schedules & Sequences

When to use Playlists

Playlists are your go-to tool for organizing multiple pieces of content into a repeating loop. Think of them like Spotify playlists, but for your screens—each "scene" is an app or piece of content that plays in order.

When to create a playlist

Use playlists when you want to:

  • Mix different content types — Combine Canva designs, Instagram feeds, YouTube videos, and announcements in one continuous loop

  • Control the order and duration — Arrange scenes in the exact order you want and set how long each scene appears on the screen

  • Keep content rotating automatically — Once assigned to a screen, your playlist loops continuously without manual intervention

  • Reuse content across screens — Build once, assign the same playlist to unlimited screens

Common use cases

Playlists work well for:

  • Cafes and restaurants — Menus, daily specials, and promotional offers

  • Gyms and retail — Social media feeds, customer reviews, and product promotions

  • Offices and schools — Announcements, event calendars, and company news

  • Waiting rooms — Health tips, entertainment, and service information

Start simple with 2-3 scenes. You can always add more content later as you get comfortable with the flow.

Playlists vs Schedules

Playlists define what content plays.

Schedules define when playlists play.

If your content doesn't change based on time of day or day of week, you only need a playlist—assign it directly to your screen.
