Understanding Playlists, Schedules & Sequences

Playlists vs Schedules vs Sequences

In Juuno, Playlists, Schedules, and Sequences work together to control what content plays and when it appears on your screens.

Playlists

A Playlist is a collection of scenes that play one after another.

Each playlist contains the content you want to display on your screens, such as images, videos, social feeds, or announcements.

Example

A café playlist might include:

  • Menu images

  • Promotions

  • Instagram posts

  • Weather information

These scenes rotate continuously while the playlist is active.

Schedules

A Schedule controls when a playlist or sequence plays.

You can set specific days and times for content to appear on your screens.

Example

  • Breakfast menu → 6:00 AM – 11:00 AM

  • Lunch menu → 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Dinner menu → 4:00 PM – Closing

Schedules allow your screens to automatically switch content throughout the day.

Sequences

A Sequence is an ordered list of playlists that play one after another.

When the last playlist finishes, the sequence loops back to the beginning.

This allows you to create longer content rotations without combining everything into one playlist.

Example

A sequence might include:

  1. Promotions Playlist

  2. Social Media Playlist

  3. Company Announcements Playlist

Each playlist plays in order, then the sequence starts again.
