Understanding the Media Library

The Media Library is where you manage all the files used across your workspaces. It’s designed to keep your assets organized, accessible, and easy to use—whether you’re working on a single or multiple teams.

The library is split into two main tabs: Workspace Assets and Global Assets. Each tab has its own purpose and permission rules, so you always know who can access, upload, or update what.

Workspace Assets

The Workspace Assets tab shows all the files that belong to a workspace.

What you can do here:

  • Upload new files
  • Copy, move or delete existing files within Workspace tab
  • Use the files for scene configurations
  • Keep files separated from other workspaces

Every member of the workspace can manage files in this tab.

Global Assets

The Global Assets tab provides a shared space for files that everyone across the account can use. It’s designed to make commonly used assets easy to find, while still giving administrators full control over how those files are managed.

The Global Assets tab becomes available once your account has multiple workspaces.

Here’s a detailed breakdown of the access levels and/or permissions for managing files within Global Assets.

1. Administrators - Admins have full management access. They can:

  • Upload new files
  • Move, copy or delete files between Workspace tab and Global Assets
  • Use the files for scene configurations
  • Organize anything in the Global Assets tab

2. Standard Users/Member can:

  • View all global files
  • Use the files for scene configurations
  • Cannot upload, copy, move, or delete anything in this tab

Summary

The Global Assets tab creates a central, view-and-use only library for users and a powerful management control for administrators. Meanwhile, Workspace Assets stays local to each workspace, giving each team the flexibility to manage their own files.
