Why Is My Playlist Muted by Default
Over the past years, browsers like Google Chrome, Safari, and Firefox have introduced policies that discourage or block videos from auto-playing with sound unless the user has already interacted with the site (click, tap, etc.). This change came due to a widespread complaints from users who found unsolicited audio disruptive.
As a result, most major browsers and many TV platforms adhere to this rule that require auto-playing videos to start without sound.
In Juuno, this means when you open the app and your playlist starts playing on your TV or screen, you’ll need to interact (by clicking “Unmute”) to enable sound.
Once enabled, your playlist will continue playing with audio until the app is closed or changes occur in the playlist causing it to refresh. In those cases, you’ll need to unmute again.
